| Again, I've tried to enhance the areas I had drawn in. This was about two class periods and I got much more shadow and depth in the drawing. I had a lot of difficulty making subtle changes in the value. One thing I never got the hang of was the cheating that has to be done when doing a pencil drawing. If I understand it at all, we see things in color and in three dimensions and this is all well and good. When doing a pencil drawing, the strokes need to evoke or suggest that something is happening. They should make the viewer perceive what is going on because pencil and paper cannot replicate the real subject. I struggled with this throughout and it no doubt contributed to my failings in the latter portion of the class work. | |
